US Marine Travis McKinney is sent back in time to Ancient Rome by Marty, a mischievous, extremely bored immortal being who controls time. Marty's only entertainment is to send people back into the past, giving him new stories to watch, and thus something to do. Marty sends Travis back to 59 BC to play his game. She comes up with the first name Titus, and he invents the surname Maximus due to his love of Russel Crowe's legendary performance in Gladiator. And with that, 'Titus Maximus' is born. Travis soon meets Caesar before he begins his unexpected and swift rise to power by winging it. Suddenly, Travis is faced with a new obstacle. If someone discovers his true identity, he will likely be crucified. Unfortunately, someone discovers that Travis is an imposter!
